Brightmark Energy plastics-to-fuel plant groundbreaking

On Wed., May 22, Brightmark Energy and RES Polyflow will break ground on the construction of the nation’s first-ever commercial-scale plastics-to-fuel facility in Ashley, Indiana. Once complete, this state-of-the-art facility will convert 100,000 tons of plastic waste into 18 million gallons of ultra-low sulfur diesel fuel and naphtha blend stocks and five million gallons of wax per year. That’s more plastic than the weight of 5,400 tractor trailers or seven Brooklyn Bridges.

Last month,Brightmark announced the closing of the $260M financing package for this plant. A total of 136 full time manufacturing jobs will be created in Northeast Indiana when all phases of the facility are operational.
