A.M.B. Lift joins HD Hyundai Construction Equipment dealer network, serving Ottawa Valley

HD Hyundai Construction Equipment North America has just added A.M.B. Lift to its dealer network to provide Hyundai compact excavators and loaders to the Ottawa Valley of Eastern Ontario.

A.M.B. Lift just celebrated 35 years in business, growing from a startup operating out of the Barclays’ garage to a dynamic business with more than 40 employees and locations in Ottawa and Peterborough. Trevor Barclay, president, said that, for now, the dealership will handle Hyundai compact construction equipment sales and service out of the Ottawa location, which has about 25,000 square feet, with an overhead crane, full paint booth and rehab.

“The excellent support we get from Hyundai Material Handling was a driving factor in our taking on the Hyundai construction equipment products,” Barclay said. “We’re a service-oriented business, and at least half of our 23-truck service fleet will serve our construction customers.”

Gordon Plotkin, HD Hyundai Construction Equipment NA’s region director for Canada, said A.M.B. Lift’s commitment to service was a key factor in inviting them to join the Hyundai dealer network. “We’re confident A.M.B. will provide a level of customer support that will impress construction contractors, landscapers and others who currently run other equipment brands,” he said. “With 35 years in business, they have well-established relationships with customers who will appreciate getting Hyundai equipment from a dealer they already trust.”

Barclay agreed. “We’re optimistic about the opportunity to expand our business and Hyundai’s in this area,” he said. “We can make decisions quickly and will support customers regardless of how large or small their operations are.”

Barclay noted that the transition to offering Hyundai construction equipment will be easy for A.M.B. because their parts and service team already knows Hyundai engines and hydraulics, and they already have a good parts inventory.

He pointed out that they have a three-ton and five-ton compact excavator in stock and are bringing in one of the new HT38 compact track loaders for snow removal. “We are excited about all of it – the whole Hyundai lineup – and we look forward to having a sea of yellow Hyundai construction equipment our customers can choose from.”
