Liebherr hands over its first wheeled excavators to its partner Kubota
Production of the new wheeled excavators is taking place at the Liebherr Group’s founding site in Kirchdorf an der Iller. A new production line was integrated into the existing factory buildings for the project. The nine- and eleven-ton models developed as part of the partnership are the exclusive products manufactured on this production line. A total of four models are produced here: the Liebherr A 909 Compact and A 911 Compact wheeled excavators, and the Kubota KW095 and KW115 wheeled excavators.
This clear focus on this product range enables efficient processes, short lead times and consistent adherence to Liebherr’s proven quality standards. The handover of the first machines to Kubota underlines the close and trusting partnership between Liebherr and Kubota.
Strategic partnership between Kubota and Liebherr
Through this strategic partnership, the two companies are combining their expertise to create forward-looking solutions that set new standards and offer added value to their customers. As part of this partnership, the two companies benefit from each other’s expertise: the proven quality of Liebherr’s wheeled excavators and the high-performance engine from the Japanese Kubota Corporation. This collaboration is a first for both companies: For the first time, Liebherr is offering two wheeled excavators in the nine- and eleven-ton classes, whilst Kubota has added wheeled excavators to its range for the first time with these two models.
Double honour: the iF DESIGN AWARD and the “Red Dot: Best of the Best” for Liebherr and Kubota wheeled excavators
These high-performance machines impress not only with their compactness and versatility, but also with their design. In addition to the iF DESIGN AWARD, the Liebherr A 909 Compact and A 911 Compact wheeled excavators, together with the Kubota KW095 and KW115 wheeled excavators, received the highest accolade of the Red Dot Design Award: “Red Dot: Best of the Best”. As part of the symbolic handover of the first wheeled excavators to Kubota, the certificates for the two awards were also presented to representatives of Kubota.
