Manitowoc Cranes has announced a new smartphone app for iOS and Android devices that will help crane operators and owners to quickly and easily determine the overall boom and jib length combination required for a lift.
The Manitowoc Boom Length Selector App allows users to select specific boom and jib length combinations, building heights, boom radii and other crane parameters using an easy sliding scale to determine the basic crane setup for a specific lift.
“By simply entering a few details, the app immediately generates a setup for that specific lift. It is a great tool to use during pre-planning or on site to get the job done,” said John Alexander, director of all-terrain crane service, mobile training and telematics at Manitowoc.
Manitowoc is the first manufacturer in the crane industry to release a smartphone app of this kind. The app currently has a five-star rating on Google Play.
The app is available now for free in both the App Store (Apple) and Google Play Store (Android) by searching for “Manitowoc Boom Length Selector.”
