ACI Concrete Convention in Atlanta highlights industry education, awards, and networking
The concrete community gathered in Atlanta, GA, October 11-14, 2026, for the Fall ACI Concrete Convention, bringing together professionals, students, industry leaders, and ACI members from around the world for technical education, committee activities, networking, and industry events.
Throughout the four-day Convention, attendees participated in technical sessions, committee meetings, student and young professional activities, awards programs, and networking opportunities focused on advancing concrete knowledge and practice.
OPENING SESSION:
The Convention officially began Sunday evening with the Opening Session, where ACI President Scott Anderson welcomed attendees to Atlanta and ACI members were recognized for their contributions to the Institute and concrete industry.
The keynote program featured a Q&A discussion with ACI leadership, including current and past ACI presidents, offering perspectives on the Institute, the concrete industry, and the value of exchanging ideas and experiences through ACI.
Following the Opening Session, attendees gathered in the exhibit hall for the Opening Reception to reconnect with colleagues, meet exhibitors, and begin the week’s networking activities.
EXCELLENCE IN CONCRETE CONSTRUCTION AWARDS GALA:
On Monday evening, ACI hosted the 12th annual ACI Excellence in Concrete Construction Awards Gala, recognizing outstanding concrete projects worldwide.
The Grand Paris Express L18 Viaduct in Saclay, Essonne, France, received the Overall Excellence Award and first place in the Bridges category. A total of 18 projects were recognized across eight award categories.
The ACI YouTube channel also livestreamed the awards presentation, allowing viewers worldwide to join in celebrating the winning projects and teams.

CONCRETE CONTRACTORS’ DAY:
Tuesday featured Concrete Contractors’ Day, sponsored by the American Society of Concrete Contractors (ASCC), with programming focused on issues affecting concrete contractors and construction professionals.
Technical sessions addressed the continued use and development of Type IL and blended cements, along with workforce safety and construction practices. The Contractors’ Day Lunch featured Rishi Pankhaniya, CEO and Co-founder of Rudus, who discussed trust, security, and liability surrounding the growing use of artificial intelligence in construction.
CONCRETE MIXER AT THE GEORGIA AQUARIUM:
Convention attendees closed out Tuesday with the Concrete Mixer at the Georgia Aquarium. Sponsored by the ACI Georgia Chapter, the off-site event provided an opportunity for attendees and guests to network and connect while exploring one of Atlanta’s signature attractions.
The evening brought together Convention attendees from across the industry for food, entertainment, and informal networking outside of the technical and committee programming.

The ACI Concrete Convention continues its tradition as the world’s gathering place for advancing concrete. ACI will next welcome the concrete community to Las Vegas, NV, March 21-24, 2027, for the Spring ACI Concrete Convention. Registration opens in early 2027.
